The Madras School of Art, now known as the Govt college of Fine Arts, is situated in Chennai, India. It was the first art school in Madras, established during the British colonial rule in the year 1850 run by Dr. Alexander Hunter.
The picture shows the 150 year old Red building situated inside the college and it remains as the painting department now, apart from painting the other departments of study offered now are Textile Design, Visual Design, Clay Modelling, Print Making & Ceramic. Students aspiring to study fine arts can join this wonderland.
